St. Stephen Golf Tournament

Join in the fun at the St. Stephen Annual Golf Tournament! This event will take place on Saturday, April 14 at Brainerd Golf Course.

- 4-person select shot, mulligans available for purchase
- Door prizes for every player
- Prizes for hole-in-one on three par 3 holes, one $10,000 prize
- Special prizes for mens'/ladies' longest drive and closest to the pin
- Auction of donated gifts during lunch
- $85 a person includes: green fees, cart, hot dogs at the turn, two free drinks and lunch
- Proceeds to help reduce the debt on St. Stephen's new kitchen
- Check-in begins at 7:30 am. Shotgun start at 8:00 am.

Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, begins the 40 day season of Lent that calls the faithful to a spiritual journey with the suffering Christ.

This is a day of fasting (ages 18-60) and abstaining from meat (age 14+).

Masses will be held on Feb. 22 at 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The imposition of ashes replicates an ancient penitential practice and symbolizes our dependence upon God's mercy and forgiveness.

Support Respect for Rights of Conscience Act

Last month, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reaffirmed a rule that virtually all private health care plans must cover sterilization, drugs or devices that cause abortion, and contraception. The rule is set to take effect August 1, 2012. Non-profit religious employers that do not now provide such coverage, and are not exempt under the rule’s extremely narrow definition of religious employer, will be given one year—until August 1, 2013—to comply.

Please voice your opposition to this threat to religious freedom whereby religious institutions that bear the name Catholic, founded as expressions of our Christian witness as Disciples of Christ, are deemed to be secular in nature by the Administration and subject to their manipulation and coercion.

Please ask your representatives to co-sponsor the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act (H.R. 1179/S. 1467) and help enact it into law. The Obama administration's decision that forces almost all religious institutions to provide coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraceptives makes passage of this measure especially urgent. Please ensure that the rights of conscience of all participants in our nation's health care system are respected.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help School will be having an Open House for Pre-K and Kindergarten on

Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the School Library
Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kindergarten Classroom or the Pre-K Classroom

There will be an All-School Open House for prospective families in grades Pre-K through 8th Grade on

Sunday, March 11, 2012 after the 10:00 a.m. Mass.
